From the depths of our hearts we raise our prayer that this closed tomb may be opened, and that the light of Christ may shine forth once again. May it be a light that dispels darkness, reaches all four corners of the world bringing peace and so proclaiming the end of wars and suffering.

These words have come to us from a girl from Bethlehem whose name is Lina. We met her together with her scout group during one of our recent Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi trips to the Holy Land. From Lina’s message one can perceive the deep and true meaning of Christian Hope, in the context of hatred, violence, and death. Christians in the Middle East live by this Faith. May our Easter, here in the West, have the same strength, the same Faith, to bear witness that from the absurdity of a tomb new life has risen in Christ Jesus!
