Novena in Preparation for the Solemnity of the Assumption (August 6–14)
Join us for a nine-day novena to prepare our hearts for the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15.
At the Grotto of Tre Fontane in Rome, Our Lady, the Virgin of the Revelation, confirmed her Assumption into heaven, declaring, “My body could not decay and did not decay… I was taken to heaven by my Son and His angels.”
On November 1, 1950, Pope Pius XII solemnly defined the Assumption as a dogma of the Catholic Church. Throughout this novena, we will honor our Blessed Mother by meditating on the words of Pope Pius XII’s encyclical, Munificentissimus Deus, paired with a daily prayer dedicated to Our Lady.
