Jubilee 2025

Pope Francis inaugurated the Jubilee 2025 and, with his Bull Spes non Confundit, urged the whole Church never to lose faith in God’s mercy. This is the hope of which the Holy Father speaks: that light which guides man through history and leads him into the arms of the Lord. In it, each person has an extraordinary experience of forgiveness. Ultimately, the Jubilee is nothing less than a year of special grace in which the Church opens her “treasury of mercy”, drawn from the merits of Christ and the saints, to grant complete forgiveness of sins. Since time immemorial, the sites of Rome have been the scene of this important event for Christianity. Every twenty-five years, the Eternal City becomes a crossroads of faith and hope, welcoming millions of pilgrims.

Through our website, we wish to accompany those who want to profoundly experience this Holy Year. First of all, we will to explore the historical roots of the Jubilee year. Following in the footsteps of Popes, Saints, poets and artists, we will tell the story of the Jubilees from 1300 to the present day. We will then delve into the symbolism of this millennial tradition through the rites and practices of the Holy Year. We will lead you to discover places of worship of particular importance, such as the Papal Basilicas and Jubilee churches, where every pilgrim can experience an intimate encounter with their faith. We will reflect on the main themes of the Holy Year: hope, forgiveness, grace, mercy and faith. In fact, the Jubilee is not just history: it is above all an experience of grace that can truly change hearts.

This section of our website is designed to help you to make this time not just another event, but the beginning of a new life that will make us bearers of that hope which does not disappoint (cf. Rom 5:5) and which alone can revolutionise the world.
