Day 1 Tota Pulchra es Maria

Tota Pulchra

Tota pulchra es Maria,
et macula originalis non es in te.
Tu gloria Ierusalem,
tu laetitia Israel,
tu honorificentia populi nostri,
tu advocata peccatorum.
O Maria! O Maria!
Virgo prudentissima,
Mater clementissima,
ora pro nobis,
intercede pro nobis,
ad Dominum Iesum Christum.
You are all beautiful, Mary,
and the stain of original sin is not in you.
You are the glory of Jerusalem,
you are the joy of Israel,
you give honour to our people.
You are an advocate of sinners. O Mary,
Virgin most intelligent,
Mother most merciful.
Pray for us,
Plead for us,
To the Lord Jesus Christ.

O Mary, you are all beautiful.

You are beautiful because you are dressed in God’s splendour. God prepared His resting place in you so that He could live there for nine months from the Incarnation to His birth in Bethlehem. Contemplating your spiritual beauty, we can fight against the dark mystique of evil that affects our lives.
You are all beautiful because you are all holy.

O Immaculate Mary, we are here at your feet, and we rejoice with you that from the beginning of time you were chosen to be the Mother of the Eternal Word and were preserved from original sin. We thank and praise the Most Holy Trinity who enriched you with this privilege at your conception. We humbly pray to you for the grace to overcome the sad effects that original sin produces in our lives. Help us to overcome them and to love our God. Hail Mary.
Lord God, you prepared a worthy dwelling place for your Son by the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin; grant, we pray, that as you preserved her from all stain of sin in your foreknowledge of His death, so we, by her intercession, may come to you with pure hearts. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
